The origin of this small brotherhood, which uses a skull with crossed shins prominently as their symbol, referring to the mortality and short duration of life but also to the triumph of Jesus over death, dates back to the fifties when a group of young catholic's came up with the idea of forming the brotherhood. Since its founding the brotherhood has a strict penitential character with one of its aims being the public prayer of the Stations of the Cross in the early hours of Good Friday through the streets of this small Andalusian town.
