The "Hanging Luigi" legend is an urban legend revolving around the 2001 action-adventure game Luigi's Mansion. In the Telephone Room in the fourth area of the game, when Luigi receives a phone call from Professor E. Gadd, lightning will strike, illuminating the room and projecting Luigi’s shadow onto the wall. From a certain perspective, the shadow closely resembles that of a hanging body, implying that Luigi had committed suicide. This shadow is merely a glitch caused by abnormal camera angles
