Myrtle Avenue School in Lamont was abuzz with excitement last month as parents, teachers, staff and students crowded into the cafeteria on a Monday night. They had come to see and hear a show-and-tell presentation, but not from just any ordinary professional. This was an astronaut, as in an authentic NASA space person who had landed that evening in a remote Kern County school.
